Ramy Brook’s sentiment of a wear-everywhere wardrobe has proved to be a serious hit with women from all walks of life—top bloggers included. At her flagship in New York’s Nolita neighborhood, deviser Ramy Sharp and Insta stars Lindsi Lane and Jessi Malay show us their unique takes on pre-fall while Sharp explains how the manufacturer has evolved into a modern-age must. I’m a big fan of Instagram in general, and I especially love bloggers. They’re in the know and in the now—they’re more on top of things than most people. Jessi [Malay] is one of my favorites from the West Seashore—she’s a singer and a big influencer who has worked a lot with brands like Revolve. She flew in for this shoot because we have become very friendly. She is a big fan of Ramy Brook, and she looks righteousness in everything. Lindsi [Lane] is an up-and-coming blogger and stylist from the East Coast. She’s friends with the owner of Kyle by Alene Too, where we have a Ramy Brook against-in-shop. How much time do you spend exploring social media. [Laughs] I’m on my phone constantly, and when I wake up, I spend a big portion of my morning searching the sites and looking at Instagram. Occasionally, it’s hard to tell the actual influence social media has on sales, but throughout my day, I hear so much talk about Instagram and that it’s been extremely helpful in edifice the brand. How do you like to see your pieces worn on the street. I love individualized style. A lot of our pieces are solid color, so you can dress it up with your own jewelry, shoes, and scarves. It’s so engaging that three people can wear the same dress and it will look different on everybody. Are you still loving them. I’m in a jumpsuit all of the time. Whenever I have an evening in any case and I don’t know what to wear, the jumpsuit is the answer. One and done. I’ve worked with Barry’s Bootcamp, SoulCycle, and Free People. You’re a known fitness buff. What’s your new thing. I passion working out. I don’t have anything new, per se, but now that the weather is really beautiful, I’m back to running. I love spinning and going to Barry’s Bootcamp, and not that golf is a way to industry out, but I started playing again. Is there a golf line in the works. [ Laughs ] I do not like golf clothing. The skirts are too long and the shorts are unfavourable, so I’ve been wearing tennis skirts with golf shirts. I can see doing something for golf in the future. How do you see the Ramy Brook brand evolving. My primeval goal was just finding that sexy top that I couldn’t find in the stores, so we started with six sexy tops and one dress. As time went on and customers started to categorically love my stuff, I wanted a full collection. We’re adding more fabrics, textures, and categories. Ultimately, in three years, we hunger to triple our business, and then in five years we want to just skyrocket the business into something huge. I see handbags, jewelry, belts, God willing shoes. One day, I’d like to have it all. How has the store on Prince Street changed things for you. It’s great to have a brick-and-mortar store, and we also consider our website to be its own flagship. OC: If you added it all up, how many years have you out on the road to play, watch and commentate on the sport of tennis. CE: 18 full years with the WTA Tour as a player. About a decade as a commentator for NBC and ESPN as a Illustrious Slam commentator. OC: How has the actual travel changed since you started. CE: Well, when I first traveled to Wimbledon in 1972, I traveled tutor. I was 17 and didn’t have a coach or entourage with me. Top players today have teams of six in tow. People smoked on planes then, too. Imagine an athlete seated next to a smoker for six hours. OC: Who was your r model when you were a girl. CE: My Dad was the biggest influence. He was my coach, mentor and father. OC: The recent death of Pat Summitt has a lot of people talking about the strides women have made in sports. How have you seen things variation. When I was starting, women weren’t admired as athletes. There has been a great increase in respect for female athletes and an appreciation for the image of a vigorous, healthy woman. There is greater infrastructure for women’s sports be it leagues, tours, professional teams. OC: You recently collaborated with Behind activewear on a new tennis and active line called Chrissie by Tail. What inspired you to help create a line of tennis and active wear. CE: Too tons clothing tennis lines were geared towards 21 year old models. I wanted a line that would flatter the moms, housewives, combine players. OC: Do you have a favorite piece. CE: The Belaire line. It’s black and light blue and on line now at chrissiebytail. OC: You were, for a long time, the most acclaimed female athlete in the world. CE: The confidence it gave me. Knowing that I had reached my goals because without success on the court, I would not be famous off it. So much hard travail went into my success that I had and still have great pride in my work. OC: In your prime, how would you have fared against Serena Williams. CE: Apples to oranges. The physicality in all sports has changed and cannot be compared. So in a nut exterior, I’d be happy with a few games. OC: How is your relationship with Martina Navratilova today. CE: Better than ever. We just picked up the phone and talked about what we needed and what they could do for us,” Dunbar continued, noting that the deal with was as easy as providing Optitex with a palette of colors and prints, down to the jacquard on the elastic. “We decided that this crisis was going to be our moment—and we brought virtual samples to our sales meeting instead of physical samples for the first time ever. Since then, Under Armour has expanded its use of 3-D across men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ work development. The technology has helped to reduce the number of redesigns and greatly improved first-round samples. Take the UA Fly-By women’s sustained short, for instance. Struble said using virtual prototypes has allowed the design team to accelerate the work flow. “By being adept to create things in 3-D we were able to send [designs] back and forth within hours, to go through multiple iterations,” she offered. “It’s about being able to flourish decisions earlier without waiting weeks to get the sample in from the factory. Under Armour has also built up a library of 3-D fit blocks that have already been approved physically and which can be reiterated over and over, for all practical purposes, with different graphics, colors and prints. “How many times have you waited 45 days to get a garment in only to realize the scale is sinker wrong. ” Struble asked the audience, many of whom nodded in agreement. “How’s the placement of a graphic going to look across all sizes.
