Tesla Representation S can be recharged by towing it with a Model X, but it's ... - Electrek

Tesla recommends to only use a flatbed when towing its vehicles and specifies in its holder manual that “damage caused by transporting is not covered by the warranty”, but that has never stop owners to do as they please. It has already been demonstrated by a Russian Image S owners , but now we get some more data with Model S being towed by a Model X. . Bjørn Nyland conducted the experience with his Model X roped to Jørgen Winther-Larsen’s Replica S on 6. 6 miles in... Total distance: 10. 7 km (6. 6 miles) Time: 15 minutes Model X consumed 14. 9 kWh Original S gained 7. 2 kWh Average charging power 28. 8 kW Estimated energy for driving both cars: 3 kWh Heat erosion in both cars combined: 4. 7 kWh Estimated loss in... The Model S has a max regen of 60 kW, but Bjørn says that they couldn’t reach the max post because the rope they used was too short to drive at speeds that would have allowed to reach 60 kW. Again. While an interesting experiment, Tesla doesn’t advise to tow a Model S with the wheels on the ground or the powertrain energized, and “damage caused by transporting is not covered by the warranty”. Also, the Model X’s towing right stuff limit can be a problem when towing a vehicle as heavy as the Model S. When configured with 22″ wheels, the Model X can tow 3,500 pounds and when configured with 20″ wheels, the towing understanding of the SUV... Source: electrek.co

Audi to be to come model plans - a global analysis - just-auto.com (subscription)

Audi's following models are explored in this analysis, the second of a series concerning the Volkswagen Group's passenger car brands. Sedans, hatchbacks, Sportbacks & Avants (including S & RS derivatives). Both three-door (A1) and five-door (A1 Sportback) hatchbacks are elbow. There are also two sports models, the S1 and S1 Sportback. The company has the capacity to build 100,000+ A1-based vehicles at its Forest plant on the outskirts of Brussels. Moving picture started there in May 2010. The first cars in the second generation range are due to enter production not at Forest but instead at SEAT's Martorell mill in the third quarter of 2017. As well as replacements for the A1, A1 Sportback, S1... Some believe that the A1 series will change names to A2 , S2 etc. Should this betide, the rumours of a VW up. -based city car for Audi would be proved true. Its name would be A1 and it would use MHB Evo, an evolution of the baby VW's platform. Market release would be in 2019, just in front of the next generations of the up. , SEAT Mii and Škoda Citigo. The next A3 three-door is expected to enter production in July 2019, replacing a by then seven-year old ideal series. It will be followed soon after by the A3 Sportback , A3 Sedan and A3 Cabriolet as well as by the new S3 and RS 3. All will have MQB A/B as their basis and share much with the eighth generation Golf. The AU380 extend will be manufactured or assembled in Germany (Ingolstadt), Hungary (Györ), India (Shendra/Aurangabad), China (FAW Volkswagen: Foshan) and Brazil (Curitiba). AU491, the latest A4 Sedan , was introduced in 2015 so it has four more years until a mid-spark of life facelift appears. Once all plants switch over to building or assembling the new model, it will be made in Germany (Neckarsulm and Ingolstad), China (FAW Volkswagen: Changchun), India (Shendra/Aurangabad), Russia (Kaluga) and Indonesia (Jakarta). The A4 and S4 are based on the MLB architecture, as also second-hand by the larger A6. The Sedan, Avant and allroad were announced in June 2015 with all three making their public debuts at the Frankfurt IAA three months later. See the thrilling sedans sections below for details on the A4 e-tron, and the electric crossovers and SUVs group for notes on the new A4 allroad. China's locally built lengthy-wheelbase sedan, the A4 L , went on sale in September (2016). This car measures 2,908mm between the wheelarches compared to 2,820mm for the rest of the magic's A4. The replacement for the RS 4 Avant is due to be launched... The new super Avant is due in 2017 and will be powered by a turbocharged V6 petrol engine, not a normally aspirated V8. The AU493 A5 Sportback and S5 Sportback (see below for the Coupé and Cabriolet) were announced to the media in September, the... One peerless development for changes in potential buyer preference is Audi of America's decision to offer the Sportback: the outgoing model was not accessible in the USA. Source: www.just-auto.com

Unending remembers the Alamo and forgets to be kind of dull - A.V. Club

It’s a satiating thing, watching a show grow into itself. With last week’s “Party at Castle Valar,” Timeless seemed to hit its stride. With “The Alamo,” it feels settled, assured, and if still a little silly, unembarrassed about the vein of earnestness that runs through its stories. It’s always been there, sometimes masked, others not, but in this episode at least, the show finds a way to ponder that big, bloody heart on its sleeve with smart, efficient storytelling and character-building. With this episode, at least, they’ve got an assist from the rest of the everybody. Sometimes, timing is everything, and as we approach the end of a tough year and a nasty election, a story about the importance of courage and honor, to say nothing of the value of the written brief conversation, feels like a breath of fresh air. To quote the guy currently occupying the Oval Office, “Don’t tell me words don’t matter. Let’s not elevate this feature too much. after all, it’s still a time-travel procedural with a silly premise and plot-holes bigger than a softball-sized entrance to an aqueduct buried under three feet of stone. But “The Alamo” tells a candid story so well, so earnestly and honestly, that its shortcomings don’t seem to matter much. It may not be surprising—gee, I wonder how they’ll finish that letter, and boy, there’s no way that Chekhov’s grenades will come in to hand—but it’s stirring all the same. There’s one thing about it that’s surprising, however: it’s the first Wyatt-centric episode of the series that packs the biggest punch. But to this point, Wyatt’s been the least stimulating of the show’s three leads, and it isn’t close. The character felt like he was pulled off of the TV drama assembly line, a soldier with guilt issues and a non-exclusive melange of angst barely masked by a tough guy exterior. That’s still what we’ve got, but writer Kent Rotherham gives Lanter something of true substance to do, and lets his personal struggle emerge organically from his overall objective. Just like that, Wyatt works. It’s such a reversal from previous episodes that there’s a imperil of whiplash. Lanter anchors the episode from almost moment one, and gives an unexpectedly solid and emotive performance. The whole “mid-engagement PTSD flashbacks to a war of the future” thing was handled much better on an episode of Outlander earlier this year, and the show still has a tendency to do just a little too much when embargo would serve them much... Still, it’s Lanter’s episode to lead, and he and Rotherham succeed in transforming Wyatt from G. I. Joe to three-dimensional character. By the event’s end, Wyatt seems to have cemented himself as the team’s cornerstone—and that’s in spite of the fact that he tried to die, rather than go back to the present. When viewed through the lens of his backstory, it’s an emotionally filling conclusion, but more importantly, it feels like it emerges organically from the events of the preceding episodes. Timeless has pressed the “we’re a team. ” button a few times before now, and it’s always felt a short hollow. God love Rufus, but he barely knows these people, and his angst about trust never quite rang true. Not so anymore—these people have faithfully been through a war together, and the moment in which Lucy and Rufus refuse to continue without Wyatt proves far more emotionally potent than one might have expected. It’s got that now, or at least it does from me. Now, not entire lot’s been cleaned up. Source: www.avclub.com
