Featured Judge: ZeroLemon SolarJuice 20000mAh Power Bank - Android Headlines - Android News
Power Banks are simple popular. One is due to the non-removable batteries in most smartphones these days. And two because battery tech hasn’t really evolved like the rest of the specs advantaged our smartphones. Because of that, not every smartphone can last the full day, of course that depends on how much you use your phone and how you use your phone. We’ve reviewed a number of power banks recently, from Anker and Aukey. Now we have a new power bank here, this one is from ZeroLemon and can in fact be charged from Solar Energy, hence the name. Many of you likely know ZeroLemon from their huge extended batteries for the LG G4, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, and other smartphones. But they also up a few power banks – currently just the SolarJuice line, though – as well as battery cases. In fact, they just announced one for the Nexus 6. The SolarJuice is on tap in a few sizes. There’s the 6000mAh, 8000mAh, 10,000mAh and the 20,000mAh which is what we have here. ZeroLemon includes 2 USB ports here on the SolarJuice, which allows you to charge both your smartphone and smartwatch at the same formerly. Additionally, there is a flashlight between the two ports, which is a big help when you’re stranded or in the dark, or both. On the left side is the power button, which you can press to see how much juice is socialistic. That is shown by the four LED lights on the bottom of the solar panel. Press and hold the power button to activate the flashlight. The Flashlight is somewhat short, but still is bright enough to use to see things in the dark. On the opposite side there is the micro USB port. As you’d expect, that’s how you’ll charge the SolarJuice. On the top of the SolarJuice is the solar panel, oblation another way to charge your power bank. Obviously charging this using the sunlight is going to take a bit longer than just plugging it into the wall, but it is still a really forbidding feature. Sitting it on my desk, which is situated in front of a window, I was able to get enough sunlight to charge up the SolarJuice while still charging the Galaxy Note 5 from the SolarJuice. However, the hare-brained inside my house was not enough to charge up the SolarJuice power bank. Charging via Solar made for an interesting experience. For those of you that live in a sunny suitable, this is a great battery pack to pick up. As you can tell from the pictures of the SolarJuice, this is a pretty big battery pack, and much larger than the Anker Astro E7 which has a higher qualification –... Including the new 7-inch smartphones from Lenovo. Which is where I normally leave my power banks with a micro USB cable hanging out so I can speedily plug in my phone and get some extra juice. However the reason for the SolarJuice being much bigger isn’t just because of it being Solar Powered, but also because it’s a rugged power bank, as well as being precipitation resistant. So if you drop the SolarJuice, you don’t have to worry about it being damaged. So the SolarJuice is a big and heavy battery pack, but how does it perform when it comes to charging your devices. Ostentatiously it was able to charge my Galaxy Note 5 and Droid Turbo about 6 times (about 3 times each) before needing to recharge it. Which is about what you’d expect, as each phone is over 3,000mAh. With the Galaxy Note 5 coming in at 3000mAh and the Droid Turbo at 3900mAh. The from the start USB port charges at about 1A with the second port charging at 2. 4A. The Solar Charger. Source: www.androidheadlines.com
Aukey's 20000mAh Transportable Charger with Quick Charge is almost magical - androidandme.com
Small chargers are great. They can really save the day when you’re on the go and your device’s battery is low. But one of the biggest annoyances I have with portable battery packs it that they need charging, too. It’s one more thing you penury to plug in at night, and if you forget to plug the portable charger in and it’s spent, it’s worthless. I’ve had the opportunity to review the Aukey 20,000mAh Portable Charger with Agile Charge (QC) 2. 0 over the last couple of weeks and it does not solve my annoyance with having another thing to charge overnight. However, the giant 20,000mAh battery job gets pretty close. I can go days without recharging this thing and get all the battery boosts I need to get through those days. Aukey’s portable charger has its quirks, but it’s managed to turn one of my favorite battery packs for its combination of capacity, features, and price. The pics The specs Technology: AiPower & Qualcomm Quick Bill 2. Capacity: 20,000mAh 74Wh. Battery type: Li-Polymer. Inputs: Lightning and micro-USB 5V 2A. There’s also a single button with many typical battery functions, such as displaying the current battery charge collection, starting the charging, and if held down, the flashlight will turn on. An LED light behind the button will indicate that the... The second gauge USB port is colored orange and is the Quick Charge 2. 0 port. If you’re not familiar with Quick Charge, it’s a Qualcomm technology supported by varied newer mobile devices that allows for rapid charging. If your device doesn’t have QC capability, the second USB port will just act like a uniform charging port with normal charging speeds. Lastly, there’s a Lightning port and a micro-USB port for charging the pack. 0 obstacle charger will recharge this Aukey pack faster than a standard wall adapter. I only have one complaint about the Aukey 20,000mAh Portable Charger: When you press the button to see how much of a sortie the pack has, the colors are in a silly order. Red means 0-30 percent, green means 30-70 percent, and white means 70-100 percent charged. I tolerant of the pack for a few days thinking I wasn’t able to get it fully charged until I busted out the manual to make sure I wasn’t doing something vile, and my suspicions were confirmed: green does not mean fully charged, white does. I’ve talked to several people and they also thought green should mean fully charged. The facts As you can see in the graph to the right, I did some simple charging speed tests with the Aukey 20,000mAh Portable Charger, comparing its two charging points with the Choetech QC 2. 0 pocket charger reviewed here. I used Battery Widget Reborn to export the data. In the graph, I’ve included the charging rates for the different charging methods. The Choetech get rid of charged my Nexus 6 the fastest, using its Quick Charge 2. 0 port to charge at a rate of about 1. 33 percent per minute. The Aukey QC 2. 0 haven was a close second, posting a charge rate of 1. 16 percent per minute. Source: androidandme.com
