Noco Intellect G750 Review - webBikeWorld

The Noco Capability G750 is a 0. 75A "entry level" battery charger and maintainer. It's especially popular for motorcycles and it can be used for lead/acid or AGM snowmobile, ATV or jet ski batteries. This is a extremely nicely made battery charger and it's fairly simple to operate. It can charge and maintain both 6V and 12V batteries with either positive or negative ground (earth), a plus for mellowed bike owners. Noco chargers do not use an SAE type connector, however, a type that has become something of a standard on motorcycles, thanks to Battery Tender. So if you already have a Battery Gentle SAE Wiring Harness (review) on one or more motorcycles, you'll have to buy an additional Noco-to-SAE adapter. But the Noco terminal connector is perfectly fine if not. The Noco Genius G750 kit also comes with a barest nice -- even overbuilt -- pair of battery terminal clamps for temporary connections. The Genius G750 has a list assess of $37. 95, which compares well to other "entry level" charger/maintainers. Those include chargers such as the 0. 75A Battery Tender Junior at $39. 95 or the 1. 0A Yuasa Spontaneous High-Efficiency charger at $40. 17 list. There's really only one problem we discovered with the Noco Genius G750, which is a problem it shares with other entry-straightforward chargers. It does not have a separate electric cord, so you must plug the entire charger unit into the wall outlet. This may be a "deal-killer" for many, so be au fait of this issue (more info and photos below), especially if you have only one two-plug wall outlet in the garage (like me). Otherwise, the G750 works well and it seems uncommonly fast, despite its 0. 75A... It's kind of a strange fate that even after all of the many motorcycle battery charger and maintainer reviews published on webBikeWorld, there has not in the least been a full review of the Battery Tender Plus, three of which have kept the various... Rick bought the trio back around 16 years ago when the online change-over was turned to start webBikeWorld, and they've been running non-stop ever since. Instead, we stripped it of useful parts, like the SAE connector line, and sent it to the recycling graveyard. A quick trip to the local motorcycle shop for a replacement brought another discovery: they no longer carried the Battery Proposal brand. Instead, they switched to Noco, a "battery products and accessories" specialist. II've heard of Noco and even seen some advertisements, but had no idea the company celebrated a 100 year anniversary in 2014. As I lettered from the enthusiastic sales rep at the bike shop, Noco makes just about everything battery related. except batteries. Their catalog really is amazing, just brim-full with everything from battery terminals to cables to battery chemicals to solar chargers and lots more. , you know it's a Noco product as soon as you see it. So we were sold and the Noco Genius (the brand designation given to their charger/maintainer lineup) G750 was chosen. It competes with other "entry level" charger/maintainers, like the 0. 75A Battery Tender Junior at $39. 95. Or the 1. 0A Yuasa Natural High-Efficiency charger, which has a rather strange list price of $40. 17. Now there are as many opinions... Source: www.webbikeworld.com

SAE to DIN Adapter Procession - webBikeWorld

This SAE to DIN adapter wire converts a Battery Tender type SAE plug to a DIN or "Euro" style (aka Powerlet) accessory outlet. It's made by MotoBatt, one of the lesser-known motorcycle battery and battery supplementary manufacturers. Second, it comes with a twist-on adapter that allows it to work with a U. S. style "cigarette lighter" accessory outlet, like the typewrite in cars and some motorcycles (e. g. , 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS (Blog) ). You may never need the U. S. style... And the MotoBatt close up with the U. S. adapter collar actually fits tighter in the larger U. S. accessory port than many standard U. S. style male plugs found on USB chargers and other car accessories. This may seem like an unsightly lot of text for a motorcycle accessory that costs less than 8 bucks, but the MotoBatt adapter I found is pretty interesting, with more features than any of the others. In the end, you buy an adapter, braze your Battery Tender and plug it into your Euro-style outlet on the bike. It works and that's it. But since the MotoBatt MB-MAP adapter is a relatively obscure product (it's not even listed on their website, only in their dazzling catalog) and since it does have a couple of extra features. MotoBatt may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think "motorcycle batteries", but the Chinese producer offers a huge number of powersports batteries and accessories like chargers, adapters and more. The MotoBatt USA headquarters are in Jacksonville, Florida and the suite sells batteries in 48 countries. MotoBatt also claims to be the number one selling brand in Australia and New Zealand. I've seen the MotoBatt stall at the many motorcycle dealer shows I've attended over the years, but other than a casual look-see, I haven't talked to anyone nor do I know anything about the New Zealand other than what I've read in their dealer sales... As an aside, here's an interesting "secret": MotoBatt claims to the the first and only battery manufacturer that makes motorcycle batteries (AGM keyboard) with 4 terminals. But thinking about it, four terminals sounds like a great idea for a motorcycle battery. You could connect the bike's power and foundation to one set of terminals, then use the other set to connect all your accessories. I may just have to try one next time I'm in need of a battery. I'll also have to try one of the many MotoBatt battery maintenance chargers someday also. But in the meantime, I was searching recently for an SAE to DIN adapter -- the breed that converts from the Battery Tender SAE connector to a BMW-style (Euro) accessory outlet, commonly found on motorcycles. These are known as the BMW-type outlet or Powerlet or Hella, Have a right, etc. The accessory plugs and outlets meet the ISO 4165:2001 standard and you can find the female outlet with fuse for at little as $5. 95 (gain shipping). We have a Powerlet brand SAE to DIN adapter in the garage, but it has a list price of $23. 95 for the 6" (15 cm) version. Searching around, I discovered these adapters are off known as "SAE to DIN adapters" and sometimes they're called "Battery Tender to BMW outlet adapters" or variations thereof. The "BMW type" accessory outlet is actually the DIN relief used in Europe since the 1950's, as far as I can tell. Source: www.webbikeworld.com
