However, the weatherman must have an inside track to my life since we are now being blessed with summer heat. My neighbor, when I hallelujahed that I’m baking again, responded with a inspiriting, in this weather. Since I love to bake and I’ve been making do with an adequate toaster oven, I’m delirious at being able use full-sized pans. The biggest problem in replacing my 50-year-old-bonus Gaffers & Sattlers triple rotisserie, timed baking and overall top-of-the-line oven — in 1965 — is that I’d grown to love my pilot light. I’ve in use accustomed to it to dry cast-iron cookware, proof bread, dehydrate a multitude of fruits and veggies, etc. In addition, since the oven was built into its own cabinet, I needed an oven that would fit the allotted intermission. It had to be gas because I’m not wired for 220, white, not wider than 24 inches, big enough that my sheet pans would fit, affordable and come with good — no, make that stellar — reviews. Cranberries, as they bake, swell up, blow up and release some of their juices into the oatmeal mixture, then dry up a little. The results are moister than raisins, a little more fruity and have a delightful tartness goes spout with the sweet cookie. I’ve also baked them without any add-ins then dipped the tops in coating chocolate and added a sprinkling of sea salt for a wonderful sweet/salty/chocolaty rendition. Keep it Clean.
